“She understands the concerns of Main Street and works 24/7 – 365 to make sure her district’s needs are met. I can think of no one who will work harder for her constituents or can better deliver results for us.”
MOLINE – Today, Sterling, Illinois Mayor Skip Lee endorsed Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) for re-election. Mayor Lee cited Congresswoman Bustos’s dedication to Northwest and Central Illinois, her pragmatic and tireless efforts to deliver results for cities and towns and her commitment to supporting servicemembers and veterans. Lee, a retired teacher from a Navy family, has served as Mayor of Sterling for nearly a decade.
With her experience from city to national level service, Cheri understands what it takes to make a difference and get things done, no matter which side of the aisle you sit on,” Mayor Lee said. “I can think of no one who will work harder for her constituents or can better deliver results for us. This has been especially evident during the COVID crisis, as Cheri has worked tirelessly to help cities and towns like Sterling recover.”
Lee added, “As a member of a Navy family myself, and someone who has worked closely with Cheri on selecting future sailors for the Naval Academy, I know that she is best suited for the job of protecting our servicemembers and supporting our veterans.”
“Mayor Lee has been a steadfast public servant for the people of Sterling, and I’m so proud to accept his endorsement in this campaign,” Rep. Bustos said. “The people of Northwestern and Central Illinois deserve leaders who work tirelessly for them, to build strong and prosperous communities. I’ll continue working with Mayor Lee and leaders across the region to make sure Illinois is a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
Now in her fourth term representing Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, Cheri Bustos is a leader in the fight to lower health care costs, rebuild our region’s infrastructure and get real results for hardworking families across Northwestern and Central Illinois.
