“President Trump may have declared himself to be a man of law and order, but last night he behaved like a dictator. After threatening to ‘dominate’ American citizens with military force, his administration gassed and shot rubber bullets at American citizens, peacefully protesting police violence against black Americans, all for a photo opportunity.“America needed words of healing and compassion, not the fanned flames of anguish and division that President Trump delivered.“
“This is not who we are.“
“We cannot let fear stop us from making our voices heard. We cannot let it stop us from demanding justice for George Floyd and other victims of systemic racial injustice.“
“Finally, we must come together in compassion, understanding and with a strong resolve for real change. By rejecting division, we will be able to take the difficult steps together, through unity, toward justice.“
