Monmouth, IL – Today, after helping harvest soybeans with Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau President Jared Kunkle, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos was formally endorsed by the Illinois Farm Bureau and recognized as a “Friend of Agriculture.” Bustos, who serves on the House Agriculture Committee and was appointed as a member of the Farm Bill Conference Committee, has worked tirelessly to strengthen family farmers across the heartland.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Illinois Farm Bureau because we need to work together to strengthen family farmers in these tough times,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. “With commodity prices much lower than they should be, we need real solutions out of Washington, not partisan politics that undermine our agricultural economy. I’m committed to continuing my work across the aisle to get the job done for all of the farmers who make our region the best place in the world to live, work and raise a family.”

“Rep. Bustos has been a great friend and leader and effectively advocates for farmers in her district and across the state,” said Adam Nielsen, Director of National Legislation at the Illinois Farm Bureau and Assistant Secretary of ACTIVATOR. “ACTIVATOR appreciates her excellent work on issues like trade which are vital to the economic well being of agriculture.”
