East Moline, Ill. – Today, Cheri Bustos released the following statement after being the presumptive Democratic Primary nominee in the race for Illinois’ 17th Congressional District.  Bustos will face off against former Congressman Bobby Schilling in the November General Election.

“I’m humbled to get the opportunity to continue to fight for working families across our region as the Democratic candidate for Illinois' 17th Congressional District,” said Bustos.   “This November’s election, voters will have a clear choice.  It’s a question of priorities and whose side each candidate is on.  In the coming months, our campaign will continue to focus on putting the middle class first, fighting for good paying jobs and to grow our economy, balancing the budget in a responsible way that protects Medicare and Social Security, and standing up for our veterans.”
