East Moline, Ill- In lieu of heading to the polls tomorrow, Cheri Bustos cast her vote by mail for March 18th’s primary election to promote use of this option in the November general election.

"Voting by mail is an easy and convenient alternative to voting in person on Election Day. I voted by mail because it provides flexibility and ensures that unforeseen circumstances won’t get in the way of our voices from being heard.  I encourage all voters to consider using Illinois’ Vote-by-Mail option in November’s election," said Bustos.

Voters can request ballots by mail starting 40 days before each election.  This fall, ballots can be requested on Thursday, September 25th.

Illinois’ Vote-by-Mail program and early vote options support greater participation in the democratic process.  Modern day demands of working families can easily interfere with a trip to the polls, in addition to unforeseen events like traffic accidents and illness.
