cheribustos: @MikeNitzel Thanks for volunteering!
The Presidental Inauguration of Barack Obama will will take place on January 21, 2013, in Washington, D.C. Congresswoman-Elect Cheri Bustos will be distributing tickets for President Obama’s inauguration via a lottery system.
Anyone can enter the lottery, but preference will be given to those from within Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. Tickets are limited, so there is no guarantee that everyone who applies will receive one.
There is a limit of four tickets per request, and the deadline to be considered for them is December 21, 2012.
Those chosen in the lottery will be notified toward the end of December and also will receive additional information on how to pick up their tickets. Those not receiving tickets will also receive notification. Anyone receiving tickets for the inauguration will be responsible for his or her own travel and expenses.
If you do not receive a ticket in the lottery, you may still attend the inauguration in the area open to the general public, and there will be other events you can attend to mark the occasion. You can visit http://inaugural.senate.gov to get information about other activities that would potentially be of interest.
