Bustos Campaign to Fight for Middle Class
Outraises Opponent Who Voted Again to End Medicare Guarantee
Thanks to an outpouring of grassroots support for Cheri Bustos’ campaign to fight for Illinois middle class families, Bustos reported raising more than $400,000 for the first quarter. Bustos maintained a strong fundraising lead over her opponent, who recently voted again to end Medicare as we know it. The Bustos campaign has 3,900 supporters.
“Our campaign is founded on the fact that Illinois families know that Washington has the wrong priorities when Congress votes to end Medicare as we know it, but cuts taxes for millionaires and oil companies,” said Cheri Bustos. “I’m grateful and inspired by the support from thousands of hard working men and women who share the belief that we can fix Congress so that the middle class comes first, Medicare and Social Security are protected and that we can create and grow good jobs here in Illinois.”
Cheri Bustos is a working mother with three grown sons and is the wife of a captain with the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department.
